The Nebraska Schools Activities Association has changed requirements for Pre-Participation Physical Examinations for the 20-21 academic year. Due to the overwhelming demand on the healthcare system in Nebraska, it was clear to the NSAA Sports Advisory Committee that the system as a whole would not have the capacity to meet original requirements in place by the NSAA for all athletes to have physicals administered in the normal time allotment. As a result, all physicals for students entering grades 8, 10, 11 & 12 that were accepted during the 19-20 academic year, will remain valid for the 20-21 academic year. This is a one year exemption only and those students who are entering 7th and 9th grades will still be required to get a physical prior to their first athletic practice. Those physicals must be administered no earlier than May 1, 2020! If you have any questions regarding this matter feel free to contact the high school office at 308-358-0640, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org

🚨Science lesson Alert🚨 One of the most important roles a meerkat plays is that of the sentry, or watch guard. One meerkat will stand on its hind legs, propped up by its tail, and act as a lookout while the rest of the mob is outside looking for food and frolicking in the sun. Our 4th and 5th graders had an awesome hands on learning experience creating their own safety and danger calls mimicking what meerkats do! Awesome job by everyone! They were too fast to be caught by the predator! #BeACharger⚡⚡

Riverside Public School receives FFVP Sponsor The USDA’s Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides funding to elementary schools to serve free fresh fruits and vegetables to children throughout the school day. The program is designed to help combat childhood obesity by teaching children the importance of developing healthy eating habits. The FFVP expands the variety of fruits and vegetable children experience and hopefully increases their fruit and vegetable consumption. Funds provided to each school cover the costs associated with administering the program including the cost of food and labor. Districts eligible must have fifty percent of its families qualify for free and reduced lunches. Riverside Public School no longer meets this criterion. We are so thrilled to announce that Henderson State Bank will sponsor the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program at both Riverside campuses for the 2019-20 school year. Thank you Henderson State Bank!!! #BeACharger⚡⚡ #BestCommunity #FamilyFirst
